The RubberCity Comedy Festival is the 4th annual comedy festival in Akron, OH and will be held on May 1st -4th, 2024. Showcases will be held at Funny Stop Comedy Club which provides comics exposure at a highly regarded comedy club and satellite shows will be held in various locations around Akron, OH.
The City of Akron boasts a vibrant comedy and arts scene that features multiple performance venues and centers around the Funny Stop Comedy.
As Northeast’s Ohio’s premier comedy showplace, the Funny Stop Comedy Club provides the best comedians available on the circuit today. Repeatedly voted as the “Best Venue for Live Comedy in Northeastern Ohio,” the Funny Stop Comedy Club features many different comedians over the years including Seinfeld, Dennis Miller, Steve Harvey, Tim Allen and many others performed at the old Hilarities. The Funny Stop has helped continue the tradition with regular appearances from comics like Ian Fidance, Kyle Ayers, Joe Machi, Pablo Fransisco, TJ Miller, Jim Florentine, Don Jamieson, Basile, John Caparulo, Pauly Shore, Carlos Mencia and Rich Vos, among many others, as well as Cleveland comics including Mary Santora, Tammy Pescatelli, Mike Polk Jr., and Bill Squire.
Aside from the comedy scene, Akron is surrounded by abundant greenery, featuring multiple outdoor entertainment venues, and adjacent to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Akron is a playground for active travelers.
The festival will be headlined by some of the best up-and-coming comics touring today and includes featured acts from all around North America.
2024 Headliners
Miki Janosi is a Cleveland comic who started in 2017. After winning the Ohio Amateur Comedy Contest, he became a regular act at Funny Stop and Hilarities. Miki has performed all over the country and opened for Dan Soder, Gianmarco Soresi, Yamaneika Saunders, Ali Macofski, and many other hilarious comics. His jokes have also been featured on Joke World and have gotten him fired from corporations.
Mike Head started as a stand- up comedian in 2005 on a dare. His co-workers and family members thought his foolishness needed some sort of platform. He performed the first time at the Cleveland Improv on amateur night and has been doing stand-up comedy ever since. He has been featured at clubs such as Hilarities Pickwick and Frolic (Cleveland), The Cleveland Improv, The Funny Stop Comedy Club, a host of churches, colleges, and a number of other venues all over Northeast Ohio. He is also an aspiring actor who has been seen performing in plays at local theatres in Ohio in the Cleveland and Akron area. He has also participated as an actor in some independent film projects.
Amber Autry is an internationally touring Comedian hailing from Nashville TN. She has been featured on Peacock TV, Drybar Comedy, and Don’t Tell Comedy. She is the co-host of the podcast I’m Fine, It’s Fine where Comedians share stories with a Trauma Therapist. Amber’s relatable observations and electric energy make every audience feel like they are her best friend. Said to be universally funny, get ready to meet your new favorite Comedian! From the Sunset Strip’s World Famous Comedy Store to three seasons on Comedy Central, the original Roast Battle insult competition launched “Roast Battle League (RBL) in 2023. The “Fight Club for Comedians” has expanded worldwide in a league format to discover the best roast writers in the world.
The league consists of 8 US cities and 8 international cities, one of which is right here in Cleveland, Ohio. Roast Battle Cleveland, which was previously known as The Ad Hominem Attack Show, is the longest running Roast Battle showcase in the Midwest, starting shows in 2016. Now rebranded, it truly is Cleveland vs. The World.

Mike Polk Jr. is a Cleveland-based writer and comedian whose self-produced videos have more than 50 million combined views on YouTube alone. He is responsible for such viral hits as “The Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism Video” (which appeared in the Michael Moore documentary Capitalism: A Love Story), “The Honest R&B Song,” “The One Semester of Spanish Love Song,” and the award-winning internet series “Man In The Box.” Polk has been performing sketch comedy with the group “Last Call” for over nine years, young throughout North America. The troupe won “Best of the Festival” in Toronto in 2011 and Seattle in 2010 and regularly perform at Cleveland’s Playhouse Square Theaters. Polk has been named Cleveland’s best comedian by Scene Magazine and Cleveland Magazine on several occasions. His work has also appeared on TNT’s Inside the NBA, and on FunnyorDie.com. For all of his bluster, Polk is a huge advocate of the Northeast Ohio area and is happy to call Cleveland his home.
